My work is based on psychodynamic theory, which teaches us that we all have an unconscious life that can exert a powerful hold over our emotions and behaviour. During therapy, it’s possible to locate the conflicts, anxieties and desires which lie beneath the surface and begin to understand the meaning of these aspects of ourselves.
COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY
My approach
I’m an intuitive and dynamic practitioner, with an instinctive ability to work within the moment and respond to my clients’ needs. My practice is inclusive: while I focus on each client as an individual, I always strive to understand the wider social context of their background and history.

THERAPY THAT WORKS FOR YOU
Person-centred counselling
This kind of therapy moves away from the traditional model where the therapist is seen as the ‘expert’, towards a non-directive, empathic approach which empowers and motivates the client. I believe the effectiveness of therapy depends on the quality of the relationship between the client and the therapist, and the best results are achieved through a respectful, warm and non-judgemental attitude towards the client.
With dramatherapy, even traditional ‘talking therapy’ can become a creative experience. Being able to draw on a wide range of techniques and ideas means I can approach issues from different directions, and help you to achieve movement, change and personal growth.
